We found some frogspawn in the school pond so brought it into Sparklers for the children to look at and watch. We talked about the life cycle of the frog and what each stage looked like. The children loved looking into the tank and watching the tadpoles hatch, eat the jelly and then swim around the tank. The children learnt lots of new vocabulary and could recall the different stages of the life cycle using the model tadpole, froglet and frog. Once we’d observed them for a while we released them back into the pond to carry on growing into frogs.
