Today we have been learning about Armistice Day and remembering the soldiers who lost their lives.
We started the day by watching a children's program about Remembrance Day which explained why we wear poppies and the meanings behind it.
We had fun painting our own poppies using cut up apples.
The children. Also had the opportunity to colour in some poppy pictures.
The builders tray was set up as a war scene for the children to explore and play with.
This afternoon we walked to the local post box to look at the new knitted topper which featured poppies and a memorial
We stood quietly and listened to a poem:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
