What a week we had celebrating Diwali. One of the children were celebrating it at home so we brought the celebrations into Sparklers with the families help. We spent the week learning all about the colourful celebration. The children had the opportunity to create some rangoli patterns in coloured sand and using chalk pens, they drew patterns in black salt to reveal bright colours underneath and made diya lamps using clay and gems. The family were very kind and donated some beautiful China diya lamps which we used during our Diwali dance and they even made us some delicious traditional snacks for the children to try. We had great fun.
