At Sparklers, we celebrated Chinese New Year in many different ways. We made a dragon costume and then used it to dance around, copying actions we‘d seen on a program about Chinese New Year. We learnt that it was the year of the tiger and the children enjoyed hearing the story of the great race. we all tried some Chinese food and even had a go at using chopsticks! We each made our own little dragon by making paper chains with red paper. We then located China on the globe and wall map and displayed the Chinese flag. At the end of the week all the children took home a little red envelope with a coin inside just like the children in China.
